Pool Repair & Leak Repair
When something on your pool breaks, you do not always need a full renovation — you need it fixed right the first time. We diagnose and repair leaks, cracked tile, failing coping, structural cracks, and broken equipment for pools across PA, NJ, and DE.
Get Free EstimateNot every pool problem is a renovation. A persistent leak, a few cracked waterline tiles, a section of loose coping, a hairline crack in the shell, or a pump that stopped circulating — these are repairs, and they should be fixed promptly before a small issue turns into an expensive one. Premier Pool Renovations has repaired pools across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware for more than 20 years, and our crews handle every common failure point in-house.
The advantage of hiring a renovation company for repairs is simple: we know exactly why pools fail, because we rebuild the ones that were never repaired correctly. A repair done right addresses the root cause — not just the symptom you can see.
What we repair
- Leak detection and repair — pressure testing of plumbing, dye testing of the shell, and electronic leak location to find exactly where water is escaping, then a targeted repair of the line, fitting, skimmer, or shell crack responsible.
- Pool tile repair — replacement of cracked, loose, or fallen waterline tile, re-grouting, and re-bedding of tile that has separated from the bond beam.
- Coping repair and replacement — re-setting loose or heaved coping stones, replacing cracked sections, and re-sealing the coping-to-deck expansion joint that protects the structure.
- Structural and crack repair — rout-and-seal treatment for surface crazing and true structural crack repair on the shell and bond beam, classified by movement.
- Equipment repair — diagnosis and repair of pumps, filters, heaters, salt cells, automation, and lighting, with replacement quoted only when repair is not cost-effective.
Leak detection done right
A pool that loses more than a quarter-inch of water a day beyond normal evaporation has a leak — and chasing it without proper testing wastes money. We isolate and pressure-test each plumbing line, dye-test suspected shell and fitting locations, and use electronic equipment to pinpoint the source before we open anything up. You get a clear diagnosis and a fixed-scope repair, not exploratory demolition.
Repair versus renovation
Sometimes a repair is the right call; sometimes it is a band-aid on a pool that needs broader work. We tell you honestly which one you are looking at. If your interior surface, tile, coping, and equipment are all near end-of-life at once, a planned pool renovation is usually cheaper than repairing each piece separately over several seasons. If the rest of the pool is sound and one element has failed, we fix that element and leave the rest alone.
Why our climate makes repairs urgent
Mid-Atlantic freeze-thaw cycles turn small problems into big ones fast. A hairline crack that lets water behind the shell in fall becomes a spalled, heaved section after the first hard freeze. Loose coping admits water into the bond beam. A slow leak undermines the deck. Catching and repairing these early — before winter — is the single cheapest thing you can do to protect the pool.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my pool is actually leaking?
Mark the water level and check it after 24 hours of no swimming. Loss beyond about a quarter-inch a day (normal evaporation) suggests a leak. We confirm with a bucket test and then pressure- and dye-test to locate it.
How much does pool repair cost?
It depends entirely on the failure. A few replacement tiles or a single coping stone is a low-hundreds repair. Leak detection and a targeted plumbing or fitting repair typically runs in the high hundreds to low thousands. Structural crack repair and equipment replacement vary with scope. Every repair is quoted line-item after the on-site diagnosis — no open-ended billing.
Do you have to drain the pool to make a repair?
Often no. Equipment repairs, most leak repairs, and joint sealing are done with the pool full. Tile, coping, and interior structural work require drawing the water down or draining, depending on where the damage is.
Can you repair just one cracked tile or a small coping section?
Yes. We do targeted tile and coping repairs without redoing the whole waterline — though if the surrounding material is also failing, we will tell you so you can decide whether a fuller tile and coping replacement makes more sense.
How fast can you come out?
Most repair diagnoses are scheduled within a few days. Active leaks and equipment failures during swim season get priority. Call us and we will get you on the schedule.
